I don't like surprises, so naturally, I assume that no one else likes surprises. Wil's aunt asking me to help her plan a surprise 40th birthday party for her husband was like a perfect storm for me. Out of love, I agreed, but I honestly would have preferred to watch Gigli on repeat with my eyelids taped open for the rest of the summer. The past two weeks (and yeah, we only had two weeks to plan it) were very trying for my little, baby brain, but we did it. And I think he liked it. Actually, I know he liked it because he called me this morning to thank me again for all I did to help make this birthday one of the best he's ever had.

I still don't like surprises and still assume that no one else likes them despite how awesome our little fete ended up being. I swear, if ANYONE tries to throw me a surprise party for my 30th, I'm going to be super pissed. And I'll probably leave. And I'm not even joking. But seriously, I'm glad Wil's uncle enjoyed his soiree. And I'm glad that my contributions helped make his birthday wishes come true. And I probably wouldn't have lasted more than 7 minutes in a Gigli marathon. Sometimes, I like to exaggerate, but not about leaving a party being thrown in my honor; I'd NEVER exaggerate about that. Pictures soon...
