Thanks, Blogger

I'm kind of annoyed right now. Did you know that Blogger only allows for a certain amount of pictures to be stored on your account and once you've reached that point, it starts deleting your oldest photos? Yeah, me either. I started going through some of my older posts this week and found out the hard way when I was confronted with 234523452345 big, ugly black boxes. Was this in the fine print somewhere? If it was, I missed it.

As far as I know, there's no way to get those images back (there goes the notion of things living forever on the Internet). If you know something I don't know, please enlighten me. Turns out, in order to make your pictures live forever, you have to host them somewhere like Flickr or Photobucket. The latter is free, so yeah. Not a happy camper today. Heads are gonna roll if I can't get those pictures back.

I know other people that have had that problem too :-/ Sorry friend. I think someone that I knew was able to "buy" more space from Google and the pictures came back that way?

I use Photobucket and the free one does have a limit to the amount of bandwidth you can use. I think it's pretty high because I used a *lot* of photos before all of a sudden I had giant "WHOOPS" boxes. I think I paid like $25 for a year and got unlimited.

Yeah just lately it seems like a lot of people are writing about this. I think Blogger's trying to pull a fast one.

I discovered that there was a limit to the number of images I could upload with wordpress too. At least, wordpress does not delete your old pictures, but rather prevent you from uploading any new ones once you have reach a limit. You also have the possibility of buying extra space (from $20 for 10GB, you can get more too)... hope this helps!
