I'm Not Sleeping

I should totally be sleeping right now, but I’m not. You wanna know why? Well, I’m stressing about money.

It’s 3:30am (I’ve been up since 2:00) and I can’t rest because I have 2398457235 numbers floating around in my head. I have one question for you: Where the hell is all this money supposed to come from for this wedding?

Don’t get me wrong, we have a LOT of help from our families in paying for our Big Day, but the bills are still adding up.  There are presents to buy, finishing touches to invest in and invitations to purchase (I’m so scared to see what those are going to cost).

I still have to get my dress altered, which, because of my little month long Paleo challenge, is probably going to cost close to a billion fucking dollars. For those of you following that feature, please consider this sentence as my weekly Paleo entry: I lost a bunch of fucking weight. No, folks, I can’t sleep.

Tell me, am I supposed to get a second job? Am I supposed to skip out on some of the small details? Should I wait until later in the summer to start buying some of the aforementioned items?

Oh, and let’s not talk about how, one: none of my clothes fit me correctly because I dropped 2345235 pant sizes this month and two: I just realized that if I want to buy clothes for our honeymoon, I’m going to have to do it now. I don’t think I’ll be able to find cute sun dresses in December, do you? Seriously, fuck my life.

Opulence: I don’t has it.

I totally hated having to spend so much on the wedding even though ours was actually pretty cheap compared to most in NY. Definitely start shopping now for sundresses. Check out VS ...they should have some on sale, actually most stores should have them on sale.

Do you know where you are getting your invites from already? If not, I have a buddy whose wife does custom ones. Check out her site or look her up on Facebook. Laura Damiano Designs. www.lauradamianodesigns.com
She is in Westchester County.

I understand what you are going through my wedding was on the cheap side but that was 8 years ago and it was still stressful to pay for things. I called in every favor from everyone I knew that had a hook up so you can start with that. Everyone is welling to help when its for a wedding and what ever you can do on your own do it. I prepared my own favors, I went cheap on the flowers, had my girls rent there bridesmaid dresses and I spent on photos and deejay and stuff like that I spared no expense on the photos cause at the end of the day that is what I had to hold on to.

It will all work out.

Yep. Call in favors and borrow clothes from someone who is a similar size with good taste. Or beg said someone with similar size and good taste to go through their wardrobe to find things they aren't going to wear anymore.

OR, go to a thrift store and see what's up there.

There are ALWAYS really good sales going on at Vistaprint.com for invites.

Thanks for all your kind words and suggestions, ladies! I'm going to wait until all the summer clothes go on clearance to start buying stuff for the honeymoon.

As far as the invitations go, we're doing something a little out of the ordinary. I can't reveal what that is yet, but if you want a sneak peak, take a look at our "Wedding Story" tab.

I am calling in favors from everyone I know and have EVER known, but it's still not enough. I think we're going to have to get a group of crafty ladies together to put some cute things together for MAD cheap! I'll keep y'all posted.
